No sense of direction
Auteur: Anita Kasabova (Bulgaria)
Was it at this end of the street?
I could not see the portal’s smile
nor add up steps for my feet,
to tap into another mile.
Inside, shadows are nodding
in tune with my attention.
I see their halo now consenting:
your place is not up for mention.
Was it up here and so far
from the running sound
clanging in fury from a car?
I feel no imprint on the ground.
The building turned its back
on my attempts to find you.
Its silhouette was just a rack,
mingling darkly in a crew.
