- Ancient philosophy (from the pre-Socratics through Plato to Aristotle) and how Greek ideas helped shape the destiny of the western world.
- Modern philosophy (Descartes’s rationalism, Locke’s and Hume’s empiricism, Nietzsche’s nihilism, Sartre’s existentialism, Derrida’s deconstruction, and many others).
- Eastern philosophy (including Taoism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and the monotheism of the Middle east).
